On November 3, 2020, the world’s eyes will focus on the United States. The presidential candidates for the Democrat party is the largest and diverse in American history, representing voices that are seldom acknowledged or heard. At the same time, some American voices will continue to be unheard to certain restraints in American law that affect historically disadvantaged populations. This talk will address the current issues surrounding race and justice in the 2020 elections. This includes a brief look at gerrymandering, felony disenfranchisement laws and symbolic racism. The goal is not only to look at the negative aspects of the political system, but also to highlight the efforts that people are making to give every American voice a chance to be heard.

KOOPERATION: Deutsch-Amerikanisches Zentrum, Evang. Bildungszentrum Hospitalhof.
